We've set up this space to keep track of this, the biggest project we've put together. We started planning in early March for a Fall wedding, nearly 7 months to plan and pull off this shindig!
We're actually having two-one for family and the other for friends. While both are for people we love we recognize that some things that would be fun for one group, might be less fun for the other group so we split them up! And this means the planning, etc. is double in some aspects. We'll do our best to update here on the entire wedding, each of its aspects and the whole event together.

Last night we went over some songs. My oldest daughter's helping us put the music list together for the ipod (no DJ for us here). She's 14 and her taste is wonderfully eclectic. She made a list for us of about 50 songs and we liked all but 4-5 of them. Truth be told, some of the songs she picked were already on the list we had started ourselves, but others were great additions. She says she has lots more she can put on the list, which is good because 100 songs just ain't gonna cut it.
When we have the entire list together (or at least some more songs) we'll rearrange them as we need to fit the different parts of the weddings. That's going to be quite a long process, I am sure, but fun.
And it's a good thing to get my daughter involved as she is really into music. It's a component of the wedding she can contribute happily to, and well.

New journal

I set up this journal as a place to chronicle this crazy process of wedding planning. And yes, I know, we've been engaged for 3 months now. But it's not like I was slacking. No, I was busy finishing up the term and dealing with life-stuff. But now, ah, now, the semester's over and so wedding planning goes into high gear. And also, I have time to blog about it. Here I will post developments, new projects started, continuing projects continuing and projects finished. I may also post some pictures. I will try to keep my venting to a minimum.
Since planning's already been going on for a while, there will be some backtracking, but hey, that's part of the fun too. There is so much excitement and enthusiasm all around us for this, it's great!
